tanker carrying 45,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit, popularly known as Petro, on Monday, tumbled and somersaulted at NICO Farm, on Iseyin/Oyo Road in the Iseyin Local Government Area, Oyo State.
Investigations by The PUNCH revealed that the tanker with the Number Plate: Lagos LM62XP, lost control while on motion, somersaulted into the nearby ditch and exploded.
The state Chairman of Fire Service, Maroof Akinwande, confirmed the incident in Ibadan, the state capital.
He said officers immediately moved to the scene to extinguish the fire when the incident was reported to the agency.
