Ibom Air incident: whoever posted comfort Emmason's half naked video must be arrested- Simi

Nigerian singer Simisola Kosoko, popularly known as Simi, has spoken out against the circulation of a viral video showing Comfort Emmanson being forcibly removed from an Ibom Air flight with her chest exposed. Simi condemned the person who posted the video without blurring or editing out Emmanson's exposed body parts, saying, "Someone recorded her being dragged off the plane, recorded her being exposed like that AND THEN POSTED IT without editing out this exposure or blurring it out. Lol." She emphasized the need to protect Emmanson's privacy and dignity, despite the controversy surrounding the incident.¹ ²

*The Incident:*

Comfort Emmanson was removed from the Ibom Air flight after a confrontation with the crew over switching off her phone before takeoff. The situation escalated, and Emmanson allegedly assaulted the flight purser, pulled off her wig, threw her glasses, and attempted to use a fire extinguisher as a weapon.³

*Aftermath:*

- Ibom Air banned Emmanson from flying with them for life.
- The Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) also placed her on an indefinite no-fly list across all member carriers.
- Emmanson was arraigned in court, remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Centre, and later had the criminal complaint against her withdrawn by the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, after she showed remorse.⁴ ⁵ ⁶
