A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Kafanchan, Kaduna State, has ordered a 30-year-old teacher, Josiah Alkali, to be remanded in a correctional facility for the alleged sexual abuse of four young boys.

Alkali was charged by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) on four separate charge sheets with the unnatural offense of anal rape, contrary to section 259 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law. The four victims were between the ages of 13 and 15 years old.

The NSCDC prosecutor, Mr. Marcus Audu, told the court that the matter was reported to the corps’ office for investigation by the Salama Sexual Assault Referral Centre in Kafanchan on July 3rd. Audu explained that the defendant had allegedly committed these heinous acts with the boys separately on multiple occasions between February and July 2024.

According to the prosecutor, the defendant would lure each of the boys into his room at Takau and then forcibly have anal sex with them. Alkali was also accused of threatening to kill the victims if they told anyone about the abuse.

“During the course of the investigation, the defendant confessed to the commission of the crimes,” the prosecutor added solemnly.
