Former polycule member of Paystack co-founder Ezra Olubi, Max Obae, has reacted to reports confirming Olubi’s removal from the company following the resurfacing of some unsettling old tweets linked to him.
After news outlets announced Olubi’s dismissal over alleged s3xual misconduct, Max publicly applauded Paystack, calling the move “a sign of real corporate maturity and a positive step for the African tech ecosystem.”
Max was previously involved in a three-person relationship with Ezra and Ezra’s lesb!an partner — a relationship the group had openly referenced on social media in the past.
In a different update, Max disclosed that he had finally completed repayment of a $55,000 loan he once owed Ezra. He posted a screenshot of the bank confirmation and wrote:
“The last $5k has been sent to Ezra. With this payment, the full $55k loan has now been settled. That’s it.”
These reactions come after weeks of controversy triggered by Ezra’s resurfaced tweets, which led Paystack to suspend him while launching an internal investigation. Olubi later alleged that he was dismissed before the inquiry was completed and without being allowed to present his defense.
